1. How can Greenlight help me adopt an infant?
Greenlight is a licensed Illinois adoption agency (License No. 510249-06). Greenlight partners with Angel Adoption to assist prospective adoptive families in Illinois with their infant adoption. Greenlight’s role is to complete each family’s home study, which is required to finalize an adoption. Greenlight does not match prospective parents with birth parents.
2. What is a home study?
A home study is an evaluation by a licensed social worker of your readiness to adopt, conducted through home visits, interviews, a background check, and other documentation. This process ensures your family is prepared emotionally, medically, and financially for the responsibility of raising an infant. Home studies can take months to complete, so we recommend you begin as soon as you are able.
3. Why should I trust Greenlight with this process?
Greenlight has provided the highest quality services for families, young adults, and children since 2003. Greenlight’s staff includes experienced social workers, licensed clinicians, and expert adoption attorneys. Greenlight has offices in both Chicago and Springfield.
4. What costs are associated with Greenlight’s home study services?
Greenlight charges one flat fee for each family’s home study. If the adoptive parents are matched with a birth parent through Angel Adoption, additional fees will be charged throughout the placement process.
