When facing life challenges such as separation and loss, anxiety, parenting difficulties, or family conflicts, having a professional counselor can help provide support and coping skills that empower the individual to manage these challenges.
Greenlight Family Services’ staff includes PhDs and Licensed Clinical Social Workers who offer therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families on a voluntary basis. Therapeutic services build on individual and family strengths while working to achieve the family’s goals.
For families involved with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (families who adopted or have guardianship of a youth who was in foster care) Greenlight offers a brief counseling program. This service would be at no cost to a DCFS family. Greenlight provides up to five sessions of clinical services. Social workers offer home-based therapeutic support for children, adolescents, caregivers, or families to assist them in managing life challenges and stress.
For families uninvolved with DCFS, Greenlight provides individualized, trauma-informed services at a sliding scale fee based on household income. Social workers are available to meet with the individual or family in their home or at a convenient location to provide therapeutic support during times of transition or stress.
